Josh Zammit was born in Sydney, Australia. After leaving high school at age sixteen to follow his passion and study film, he went on to work for numerous film directors on various projects in both production and post-production roles. In 2012, Zammit joined the production company Sterling Cinema, writing and producing the indie horror feature ‘Observance,’ which premiered at the 2015 Fantasia Film Festival and screened at the 59th BFI London Film Festival.

 

Josh wrote and directed his debut short ‘Ascendant’, which won Best Cinematography at St Kilda Film Festival and received the Gold Tripod for Best Short Film at the Australian Cinematographers Society Awards. Now based in Los Angeles, Zammit is currently developing several feature film projects, including 'Seeder', the screenplay of which placed in the 2022 Nicholl Fellowship Quarterfinals and is due to move into production in 2024 with Arclight Films.
